The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino PS has put on quite a bit of weight since I tasted it last year. The richly textured, vivid Brunello jumps from the glass with seamless layers of fruit. Impeccable and refined throughout, the wine offers extraordinary balance and elegance. Sweet mentholated notes add further complexity to the fruit, as the brunello di Montalcino PS gains a measure of volume and depth that carries through to the refined, silky finish. ProducerSiro Pacenti

This Tuscan wine estate was established in 1970 north of Montalcino by Siro Pacenti. Some of the vines planted by Siro Pacenti on the establishment of the vineyard are still there today, and some are still used for producing Siro Pacenti’s well-known wines. The grapes used to produce the famous Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino are grown in the clay soil, with breath-taking views of Siena.
