Digby Fine English Outshines French Rivals Krug & Dom Pérignon

Digby was launched in 2013 and gained instant global recognition by winning the best sparkling English wine with their 2009 Brut Reserve in the 2014 Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships. Determined to produce wines that are distinctively English in character, the experienced team at Digby have built long-term relationships with the best vineyards across English wine country (typically in Kent, Sussex and Hampshire). This diversity allows Digby, with one of England’s most celebrated winemakers Dermot Sugure at the helm, to produce a sparkling wine with a hallmark richness of flavour and texture focusing on Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay.

2017 has been a phenomenal year for Digby Fine English, winning Gold awards both in the UK and internationally, most recently on the 1st November 2017, Digby's Flagship 2010 Vintage Brut received an acclaim that will go down in wine history.

At the new heart of the London wine world, 67 Pall Mall, Steven Spurrier, the man that put Napa wine on the world map in 1976, held a blind tasting pitting the top English wines against their French rivals.

We are proud to annouce that Digby's flagship, 2010 Vintage Brut (RRP £40), beat none other than:
  • Krug Grande Cuvée NV    (RRP £140)
  • 2009 Dom Pérignon        (RRP £115)
  • and NV Gosset                (RRP £50).
An astonishing victory for Digby Fine English and a promising result for the UK sparkling wine industry.

Cheers to England!
