Matetic Vinyards Receive 98 Points For Iconic Cold-Climate Wine: The 2013 Matetic Syrah



Matetic Vineyards was recently honored by the celebrated British wine critic Tim Atkin with the Best Red Wine of the Year award for its icon wine, the 2013 Matetic Syrah during the 2018 Prowein international wine fair held in Düsseldorf, Germany in March.

During one on the world’s most important wine fairs, Matetic Vineyards, which is known for the excellent quality of its wines and its constant quest to transmit the most authentic expression of its terroir in every one of its wines, received the highest recognition for its cold-climate icon wine, the 2013 Matetic Syrah. This wine from Chile’s San Antonio Valley earned 98 points and the Medal of Excellence as well as the Best Red Wine of the Year award in Atkin’s annual report on Chilean wines.

In addition to this important recognition, wines from the Corralillo and EQ lines also earned high scores, including the 2014 EQ Syrah (95 pts), 2015 EQ Chardonnay (92 pts), 2015 EQ Sauvignon Blanc (93 pts), and the 2017 Coralillo Riesling (93 pts).
