Birgit Eichinger lunch at Skylon

On the 7th February we held a special Birgit Eichinger ladies luncheon at Skylon which was triumphant. Helena Puolakka's menu matched Eichinger's Rieslings and Gruners extreemly well. A great turnout of female sommeliers and members of the press - a wonderful event. Jane Parkinson from The Wine Gang thoroughly enjoyed the wines:

“I hugely enjoyed the lunch and found Birgit to be very engaging company. She's clearly deeply passionate about her wines and about female winemakers. It was great to have the opportunity to try her Roter Veltliner and to try some wine and food matches that on paper looked very brave! Gruner Veltliner or Riesling and duck! I thought Riesling Heiligenstein was a surprisingly good match with the duck as it had the depth, complexity and texture to cope with the richness of the duck, which was very revealing, and of course very tasty too!” Jane Parkinson
