It is the job of our Buying team to discover new wines and the greatest growers across the world. They are focused on discovering new wines, unknown producers and building an incredible portfolio of wines which are often exclusive to us and renowned internationally, offering our customers access to the finest wines.
Head of Buying
James joined Armit Wines in 2008 and is Head of Buying. He has over fifteen years experience in the wine trade which includes buying at Laithwaites and wine marketing at Waitrose.
He developed his passion for wine during a year abroad in Bordeaux whilst studying history at Bristol University. James has five children and enjoys travelling, speaking french and skiing.
Edwina is responsible for the wines of Italy, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Champagne and the Loire Valley. As a buyer, Edwina enjoys the opportunity to champion the efforts of lesser-known wines and winemakers and appreciates any wine that is a good example of its region or variety. She is happiest when meeting the numerous winemakers with whom we work and is always keen to try something new, especially when accompanied by good food and company.
Edwina enjoys horseracing, cricket and cooking, cocktails and Gin & Tonics – and, of course, if she’s not thinking about wine or talking about it, then she is most definitely drinking it!
Côme Savary de Beauregard
After graduating in Political Sciences and History in France, Côme moved to the Middle East in Jordan where he worked for the French Embassy. After a few years, he gave in to the lure of a career in wine and moved back to London to make his debut in the wine trade, joining Armit Wines as Buying Support.
Over the last 10 years, Donna’s interest in wine has grown hugely, completing her WSET Levels 1 and 2, and of course the variety of vineyard roles and tastings at Brancott. She is now enjoying life in the Buying team where she can develop her drinking skills and understand more about the buying aspect within the industry.
In her spare time, Donna enjoys going to food markets, wine or beer festivals, cooking and listening to (her terrible taste in) music as well as continuing her WSET studies.
