Adam Raffety - Head of Trading
Adam's career in wine arguably started a decade or so before he could legally drink the stuff when he would help out in the cellars of his family's business. Years later, after several years in recruitment and a couple of winters spent skiing his passion for wine saw him join Liv-ex - the online exchange for fine wines - as an exchange manager and in doing so he began to develop his niche of trade-to-trade buying and selling.
Joining Armit Wines in 2010 Adam now heads the Trading team whose primary responsibilities include selling to and buying from other merchants and wine funds around the world, the valuation of client reserve portfolios, the management of Armit's agency allocations to partnering merchants and the sourcing of rare and exciting parcels for sale by the business as a whole.
Outside the world of wine Adam is a lifelong Wasps rugby fan, a passionate skier and an erratic golfer.
Will start working in the wine trade part-time whilst reading history at Trinity College Dublin in 2002; working at Mitchell and Son. After a brief, ill-advised job working for a bank he returned, inevitably, to the wine trade. During stints at BBR and RDFW, he developed a taste for a broad range of wines but the wines of Burgundy, Tuscany and Germany always feature strongly. Since joining Armit in October 2013, he is developing a taste for the best that Piedmont has to offer. Will’s role involves dealing with UK and international merchants, negociants and brokers.
