Our PortfolioItaly

Italy is a wonderful patchwork quilt of a country with incredible regionality and local traditions. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the wealth of indigenous grape varieties that grace the slopes and plains of Italy's wine-producing regions. While wine production dates back centuries, it wasn't until relatively recently that a wave of producers set new benchmarks for fine Italian Wines. Italy is now synonymous with some of the greatest wines in the world. Whether you like a more modernist or traditionalist approach, international or indigenous varieties, the Italian wine scene has never been more exciting.

Bottle shot of 2021 Saffredi
Tasting Notes

Mesmerizing aromas of sandalwood, lavender, sage and currants. Mint and spearmint. Lead pencil shavings. Light coffee bean too. Medium to full body with ultra-fine tannins. It goes on for minutes. 60% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot, and 10% petit verdot. So approachable already, but this will age beautifully. Best after 2026 and beyond. 99, James Suckling

Bottle shot of 2011 Barbaresco Sorì Tildìn
Low Stock
Tasting Notes

The 2011 really highlights the nuance, subtlety and elegance that this site is capable of whilst retaining the depth, verve and structure. This is a powerfully built Barbaresco but one with striking finesse. There is so much complexity but it is seamless and weightlessly elegant. One of the best Sorì Tildìns we have tasted. Supreme.

Bottle shot of 2019 Contrada Rampante Vigna Barbagalli
Tasting Notes

"This is a complex Etna with an almost old-fashioned style. It is full of basalt minerality, pomegranate, cherries, graphite and deep, smoky tones. Full-bodied, it has firm tannins, chalky yet ripe. The crisp, lasting acidity leads to a long aftertaste. Drinkable now but will last for decades." 96, James Suckling

Bottle shot of 2019 Sant'Andrea
Tasting Notes

"Displaying a deep golden hue, the 2019 Etna Bianco Sant’Andrea opens with a honeyed sweetness as wildflowers and chamomile accentuate hints of young peach. It’s nicely rounded, revealing a mineral tinge up front that’s further enhanced by notes of ginger as crisp orchard fruits swirl throughout. Medium in length, this finishes fresh, leaving a minty sensation to taper off." Eric...

Bottle shot of 2020 Contrada Rampante Vigna Barbagalli

Tasting Notes

Sitting literally on the border of the denomination at 1000 meters of altitude, the fruit is sourced from a tiny plot of 120 year old vines producing an average of half a kilogram of berries per plant. This is considered the Grand Cru of Pietradolce and is an outstanding expression of Rampante. “Exceptionally long, structured and classically dry, the 2020...

Tasting Notes

"2022 being a warmer growing season is giving slightly darker notes on the nose, red and blue berries. Fleshy and rich. This Nebbiolo glides over the mouth with warmth and generosity, finishes with a burst of bright red fruits and pleasantly." Armit Wines

Bottle shot of 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Vigneti del Versante
Tasting Notes

"The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino is a fascinating interpretation of Vigneti di Versante. It takes the lifted, floral, exotic nature of the vintage and marries it beautifully to Pian dell'Orino's style of finesse and refinement. Mint leaf, crushed rocks, hints of camphor and dried strawberries are complicated by suggestions of ground ginger in the glass. This is elegant and refined,...

Bottle shot of 2021 Brunello di Montalcino
Tasting Notes

"The 2021 Brunello di Montalcino impresses straight away for its exuberance, tell-tale of the vintage: its alluring perfume and ethereal profile hide the underlying concentration and depth of this wine. A dense core of steeped violets and rose petals is wrapped around a layer of juicy, ripe wild berries and spice. The acid backbone and fine-grained, velvety tannins lifting the...
