Alessandro Mori's new releases are sought out by collectors the world over, especially his single vineyard Madonna delle Grazie of which merely 5,000 bottles are produced. Alessandro knows his vineyards intimately and understands how to coax the best out of this venerable varietal in the cellar producing wines of great purity and suppleness. His wines leapt to their current prominence when Monica Larner scored his 2010 Madonna delle Grazie 100 points and Armit are lucky enough to distribute his wonderful Brunellos in the UK.
The 2013 vintage in Montalcino signals a return of a more classic style as temperatures during the growing season were cooler than 2011 and 2012. As a result 2013 is not as uniform as some vintages in Brunello and attention must be paid to individual producers more so than usual, Mori enjoyed great success with his 2013s, waiting to harvest on sunny days in early October. Alessandro is proud to have produced high quality wines of “great intensity”.
Alessandro almost always harvests later than many of his neighbours, a tactic that paid particular dividends in 2013, be sure to register your interest today as these wines always sell out quickly!
"There is no doubt that knowledgeable Brunello fans consider Il Marroneto to be one of the top dozen or so estates in Montalcino today."
