Mulderbosch Single Vineyard Chenin: The National Hero of South Africa
We are pleased to introduce the single vineyard Chenin Blanc range from Mulderbosch. The wines show the subtle distinctions the grape can take on depending upon its site, dictated by altitude, soil type and distance from the sea.
Having been led through the range by Mulderbosch winemaker Adam Mason, we were fascinated to discover the differences between the wines for ourselves.
The sole defining factor between each of these wines is the terroir as the winemaking process is the same for each wine. The grapes from each vineyard are whole bunch pressed and vinified for ten months in French oak barrels with meticulous care to allow the soils to speak for themselves. The 2016 vintage was hot and dry, leading the vines to struggle and draw on reserves deep in the ground furnishing them with the unique characters of their landscapes.

As the national hero of South Africa, this Chenin Blanc from Blocks A, S2 and W, shines through in kaleidoscopic fashion.
