Few new releases can elicit as much excitement as those of Italy’s great Tua Rita.
This year, Tua Rita celebrates the twentieth anniversary of Redigaffi with the arrival of its much anticipated 2014 vintage.
Just outside the beautiful town of Suvereto lie the gently sloping hillsides rich in clay and silt that are home to Tua Rita’s renowned international varieties. The wines made here are some of the finest, most fastidiously crafted wines in Tuscany. And Tua Rita’s 2014s are truly world class.
To commemorate the 2014 Redigaffi anniversary edition, the estate has created a special, collectable label which we are delighted to release today, alongside Tua Rita’s 2014 Giusto di Notri and 2014 Perlato.
In 2014, proprietor Stefano Frascolla took the brave decision to wait an additional three weeks at harvest compared to his neighbours, when coastal Tuscany enjoyed the warm weather that returned late into October. A ‘super selection’ took place seven times in the vineyard and on the sorting tables. Whilst the result of such unparalleled care and attention is a greatly reduced production, Tua Rita’s 2014s are thrilling, compelling wines matched by considerable finesse.
2014 is without doubt a milestone in this exceptional Tuscan estate’s history. For wine lovers and wine collectors alike, there is much to tempt them here.
