“Geoffroy's wines always stand out for their inviting, textured personalities.”
Antonio Galloni
We are delighted to welcome the incomparable wines of Champagne Geoffroy into our collection.
Champagne Geoffroy is a small family domaine in the Vallée de la Marne, owned and run by fifth generation winemaker Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy. Widely acclaimed by critics to be among the top Champagne growers in the region, Jean Baptiste is an extremely energetic, charismatic and meticulous winemaker.
Champagne Geoffroy is based in superb premises in Aÿ but most of their 14 hectares are in Cumières, two villages away. Pinot rules in this part of the region and Geoffroy’s holdings comprise 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier and 20% Chardonnay. He crafts wines from 45 separate parcels which are then vinified in wood.
The wines made here are highly individual whilst each reflecting the house’s hallmark thrilling, fruity character. These are champagnes of great vineyard definition with incredible potential; full of flavour with brilliant concentration and a visceral tension which makes them suitable for cellaring.
There is no doubt that they are some of the best value, most characterful champagnes we have come across.
Wine lovers and wine collectors should be buying, drinking and cellaring these wines for as long as their patience can master!
Our highlight of the collection is Millésime Extra Brut 2005, the prestige Champagne of the collection which is only bottled in the best vintages. A smoky and very mineral wine which makes a great partner to truffle and parmesan risotto.
The whole collection consistently displays unique vineyard character and each cuvée is worthy of respect in its own right. Try the many expressions of Champagne Geoffroy to explore their vibrant and seductive house style.
