Domaine de Montille is one of Burgundy’s greatest domaines. In recent years, purchases in Beaune, Corton and the Côte de Nuits have significantly extended the vineyards. The Domaine has moved progressively towards organic and now biodynamic methods working in closer harmony with nature. The approach in the cellar remains traditional though in the last few years, since Hubert’s son Etienne took over the reins, there has been a focus on bringing greater aromatic expression to the red wines. The wines still benefit from ageing and develop an abundance of complexity with maturity. Etienne’s ambition and his determination to produce outstanding wines will continue to drive this estate forward. With the help of his expert viticultural team, and his talented Chef de Cave Brian Sieve, the Domaine has made a very impressive selection of 2014s.
