‘A total knock-out, the 2015 Lynch Bages is racy, sumptuous and super-expressive.’
Antonio Galloni

Always a personal favourite amongst staff and clients alike Lynch Bages has a certain intangible quality. Regularly outperforming its fifth growth status it tends to rub shoulders with wines double its price and more. The 2015 rendition of Lynch-Bages does not disappoint. In fact, it clearly excelled in the company of its Pauillac compatriots. Ebullient, layers of complexity and ripeness mark this out as a special vintage for the house. This is likely to be amongst the most popular wines of the campaign. In 2015 power and lightness combine to make a very moreish wine. Purchase with satisfaction and smugness!

Blanc de Lynch Bages is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle from vines averaging 20 years of age resulting in a wine with taut freshness and layers of stone fruit complexity. Quite capable of graceful ageing this is a wine that rewards in youth for its zingy citrus and grapefruit pith character, moving more towards creamy slightly honey tinged tropical fruit with age. For fans of white Bordeaux this is certainly one to follow. The 2015 is pure with fragrance of white flowers flowing into crisp, crunchy citrus and a touch of stone fruit on the finish.

For those clamouring to get their hands on the Grand Vin you will need something to sate your thirst whilst you allow it a graceful repose in your cellar. Echo de Lynch Bages is consistent in its charm. (Some may remember this cuvee under its former moniker of Haut Bages Averous.) This is a wine that offers a gratifying insight into the greatness of the estate at a more day to day price. Soft, supple, fresh and eminently pleasurable.

Strict allocation - priority will be given to those who purchase Echo alongside the Grand Vin.

Echo

The 2015 Echo de Lynch Bages is a blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon and 34% Merlot, matured in one-year-old barrels. It has a fragrant, finely tuned bouquet of blackberry, pencil lead and a touch of citrus fruit - scents that gently unfold in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin, the acidity well judged, gentle in the mouth, but building in fruit intensity to a pleasurable graphite-tinged finish. One of those deuxième vins where more is less. This is a well-crafted Echo...echo...echo...

Lynch Bages , BLANCS

The 2015 Blanc de Lynch Bages, 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 33% Semillon and 17% Muscadelle, matured in 45% new oak. The yields were just 29.8 hectoliters per hectare, because of the dry growing conditions that particularly affected the Sauvignon Blanc. It has an attractive bouquet with scents of lime, gooseberry and beeswax, the oak neatly enmeshed. The palate is fresh and vibrant, harmonious in the mouth with a twist of bitter lemon on the mid-palate, easing down towards the finish with Cornice pear and citrus peel notes. There is very pleasant salinity on the aftertaste that urges you back for another sip. This is an accomplished Blanc de Lynch Bages that should offer several years' drinking pleasure.

Lynch Bages

There is an overwhelming sense of purity on the nose: perfumed, almost floral blackberry, wild strawberry, graphite and cedar scents, unmistakably Pauillac in style. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin, a keen citrus thread that impart tension and ample freshness. Tasting this as the first wine of the day, it instantly refreshes the mouth and leaves it tingling with energy after it has departed. This is an excellent, top-grade Lynch Bages that deserves 8-10 years in bottle and then will offer three decade of pleasure, maybe more.

A total knock-out, the 2015 Lynch Bages is racy, sumptuous and super-expressive. Raspberry jam, mocha, dark spices and leather flesh out as the 2015 shows off its broad, ample frame and inviting personality. The 2015 is a decidedly dark, flamboyant Lynch Bages with enough depth to drink well for several decades. Although a bit atypical, the 2015 Lynch Bages is nevertheless quite attractive.
91-94/100, Antonio Galloni

A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, this is a beautifully balanced wine with an intense bouquet of ripe blackcurrants and cassis mingled with scents of cedar smoke and coffee. The palate is rich and ripe with firm textures and lovely fresh red berry fruits to balance while notes of liquorice and spice add further depth on the finish. A classic Lynch which deserves five to ten years in bottle before opening, it will age superbly well.
