Lustau, founded in 1896, has more than a century of history as a Sherry producer. For over thirty years it has worked to a "boutique" concept in its winemaking, building up a selection of some thirty wines from its own Soleras and others selected from the stocks of the small "Almacenista" producers. These are aged in all three of the cities of the Sherry region: Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María and Sanlúcar de Barrameda. For the second year Lustau has taken this quality approach a step further, releasing a wine from each of these cities “en...
“The Viña Arana 2009 is a wine with that smooth, polished red colour typical of classic Riojas. Clean and bright in the glass, with light orange notes on the rim. Outstandingly intense nose, with light balsamic tertiary aromas of tobacco, caramel, incense and spices against a background of ripe fruit. Consistent and well-balanced in the mouth, with fine, elegant...more

Yellow with green hues; clean and bright. This wine particularly stands out for its great aromatic intensity, with marked hints of stone fruit (peaches) and white fruit (ripe apples and quinces) against a citrus background of lemon tree leaves. Big, flavoursome and fresh in the mouth, with a well-integrated acidity. Fruity and particularly persistent finish.

The "3 en rama" wines comprise a Fino from Jerez, another from El Puerto de Santa María and a Manzanilla from Sanlúcar, each town located at an apex of the Sherry triangle. Manuel Lozano, Lustau’s oenologist, who has received recognition from the International Wine Challenge in London as “Best Fortified Winemaker” for the past five consecutive years, has selected one specific butt of each wine which will be bottled without even minimal filtration. Lustau is the only house able to offer wines from all three ‘sherry’ towns and this is a very rare Lustau opportunity to taste the influence of location and micro climate on wines in their ‘natural’ state.
This second release is limited and the wines are bottled straight from cask without fining, filtering or any other method of stabilisation, immediately before shipment. The wines will be shipped to order and should arrive late Spring.
