In the 1960s, the late Al Brounstein bought a plot of land in the higher part of Napa Valley. A true Francophile and visionary, he became the first producer in Napa to work exclusively with Bordeaux’s signature grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon. He also decided against blending all his grapes but to take advantage of the three distinct soil types on his property - volcanic, ferrous and gravelly - to produce different expressions of Diamond Creek Cabernet Sauvignon. The result is one of the most thrilling, concentrated, long-lived expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley.
