Our friends Jean-Marie and Bernard Raveneau produce some of the finest Premier Cru and Grand Cru Chablis. When we were looking for a village Chablis to add to our portfolio, we asked for their help and they introduced us to the Domaine Sourice Depuydt, from whom we have been buying Domaine de la Genillotte ever since. The first vintage we bought was 1995 and the quality has been consistent from year to year.

An east to south facing vineyard with deep calcerous soils, this wine has a refined mineral character which is typical of this vineyard. The 2016 has an intense lime and grapefruit flavour leading to a long and persistent finish. It could do with a little bit more ageing.

A very elegant wine with a real sense of direction and purpose, it reveals a subtle bouquet of stone fruits and delicate citrus characters while the palate is refreshing and pure with soft white peach and green apple fruits. A little restrained at first, this wine has plenty of depth and the potential for longer ageing.more
