DR LOOSEN

Having been in the same family for over 200 years, the Dr. Loosen estate sits on the Mosel River and boasts a long-standing commitment to sustainable wine production. After assuming ownership in 1988 Ernst Loosen set about bringing in these practices in caring for the then ungrafted vines, averaging an incredible 60 years in some of Germany's top rated vineyards.

Mango, glazed pineapple, root beer and caramel inform a headily ripe and exotic nose – tinged with musk, sweat, and smoke – and also an almost syrupy-sweet and viscous palate. Fine and concentrated this Riesling is brimming with ripe citrus, a touch of tropical fruit and a clearly defined slatey minerality. As with all of Trossen's wines any residual sugar is lifted by fine acidity to...

TASTING NOTES

The Rudolf Trossen Silbermond Riesling is a pale yellow green colour. The nose is elegant and restrained showing notes of lime, lime peel, white stone fruit, green tomato, pineapple and a touch of Riesling's characteristic petroleum note. The palate is equally restrained and all the better for it. Subtle flavours of lime flesh, tropical pineapple and grapefruit fill the reveal...
