Domaine Ghislaine Barthod is one of the most prominent producers in the Chambolle-Musigny. The estate was initially founded by Marcel Noëllat in the early 20th Century. Marcel's daughter married Gaston Barthod, an officer in the French army, then stationed in Dijon. The pair continued to work on and develop the domaine over the decades. Barthod's daughter Ghislaine took over after Gaston's death in 1999, having effectively run the estate for the previous decade or so. She and partner Louis Boillot combine vineyard work across both their respective domaines, although the two estates are run as separate entities and the wines made in their respective wineries.
