Scores

Very deep garnet-black colored, the 2006 Eric Stevens Purbrick Cabernet Sauvignon offers pronounced aromas of creme de cassis, dark chocolate, kirsch and soy over notes of coffee grounds, anise, black olives and cigar boxes. Medium full bodied, the palate is nicely balanced with a very good concentration of savory fruit, medium-high acid and a high level of chewy tannins. The finish is long with layers of earth and spice flavors. Drinking well now, it should continue to cellar to 2020+. Score: 93 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Tasting Notes

The fruit for the ESP 'reserve cuvee' Cabernet is mainly sourced from vines dating back to 1949. Darker fruits on the nose and palate than the Estate Cabernet, the ESP has a richer palate spectrum with more poise and power. Intense black fruits, coffee, black olives and more spice with excellent concentration of fruit on the finish. A wonderfully impressive expression of Cabernet Sauvignon.

With vines dating back to 1860, Tahbilk is one of the oldest established wineries in Australia. Based in a lakeland area of Victoria, which cools the climate somewhat, this terroir is ideal for the grapes of the Northern Côtes du Rhône - particularly white Marsanne and red Syrah/Shiraz. See More
