Scores

Attractive lime pickle and grapefruit on the nose with a light pastry and spiced berry edge. The palate has intense, punchy appeal, with succulent and powerful fruit and acid drive. Stony finish. Drink now.
94 Points, James Suckling

58% Chardonnay, 42% Pinot Noir. Aim here is to highlight Chardonnay from Cumières, which has only 19% of the planted area. Selection from three lieux-dits in Cumières with particularly chalky soils. 45% made in demi-muid barrels using only the first juice with most finesse from the pressing. No malo. Dosage 6 g/l. Dancing, lively, polished, creamy fruit. (Quite a contrast with the more rugged style of the Lassaigne 2008.) Luxurious and lively. Open. Drink 2017-2025.
Jancis Robinson, 17.5 Points

Tasting Notes

From one of the very finest vintages of the past three decades this is already oozing with class and sensuous appeal. It is marvellously complex with ripe aromas of ripe orchard fruit and zesty citrus. The palate just continues the seduction with an array of flavours that reminds you why Champagne is one of the noblest wines of all.

ProducerChampagne Geoffroy

Stretching over 14 ha of vines in the heart of Vallée de la Marne, Champagne Geoffroy is renowned for Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier focused champagnes of incredible freshness and authenticity. Since the 17th century, the family has been growing grapes but only in the 1950s did the family start vinifying their grapes. Cumières remains the heart of the house. From his joyous Expression NV to a one of a kind Rosé de Saignée to the still Pinot Noir, if you like Blanc de Noirs sparkling wines, Champagne Geoffroy is not to be missed.
