Reviews & Scores

Huet’s 2009 Vouvray Moelleux Le Mont smells effusively and exotically of ripe quince, mango, litchi, and pineapple, along with Chartreuse-like suggestions of distilled floral and herbal essences. In contrast with the corresponding Haut-Lieu, here the acidity is largely integrated and keeps its powder dry for successfully holding at bay the finishing onslaught of residual sugar. Notes of marzipan and peach preserves further add to the almost garish array of nearly over-ripe fruits. I would give this at least a couple of years in bottle before revisiting and expect it to keep well for 20 or more years. David Schildknecht, eRobertParker.com

Wonderful lush, broad nose with butter, baked apple, tingling acidity and a burnt sugar note on the length. Open and charming. 12%.Drink 2015-2025.

TASTING NOTES

Brilliant, intense, rich and unctuous, this combines undoubted class with a little flamboyance too. Notes of peach, nectarine and sherbet with enough acidity to counter the sweetness, overlaying a deep, layered core and a mineral streak on the finish. This has you could possibly want from a top Sauternes. Chapeau to Lur-Saluces. Drink 2015-2030+. 18.5

TASTING NOTES

This offers clean citrus peel and dried apricot character, with light lavender and honey notes. Medium-bodied and medium sweet, with a clean, mineral finish. An elegant and refined sweetie that is very much like a delicate Sauternes. Armit Wines

TASTING NOTES

This Aleatico is a very unique “meditation wine” with an intense amber color. On the nose it is immediately evident its aromatic structure with dried and candied fruits: apricot, dates and figs. On a second level there come liquorices and coffee notes. On the palate a balsamic note of typical Mediterranean herbs and spices is very predominant, whit sage and...

TASTING NOTES

Intense, with moderate sweetness and lively acidity buoying walnut, dried peach, salted butter and caramel flavors, this is expressive and builds to a long walnut-and-caramel aftertaste. Armit Wines
