 In the same discreet though noticeable fashion there is a slight vegetal component to the otherwise spicy, fresh and lightly mineral-inflected red and dark berry fruit aromas. There is a bit more muscle and weight to the equally mineral-tinged middle weight flavors that are supported by moderately firm tannins and enough depth and length to be interesting. Still, the vegetal character is a mild detraction and it's not clear whether it will dissipate with time or become more pronounced and my predicted range reflects this uncertainty.

Tasting Notes

A very attractive Morey with sweet plum and redcurrant aromas with hints of damson fruit. The palate is medium weight with juicy, sweet dark flavours supported by fine tannins. Harmonious and elegant, this wine will be perfect from release.

Domaine Anne et Hervé Sigaut is concentrated in Chambolle Musigny and Morey St Denis and has developed a loyal following amongst serious Pinot lovers. Hervé Sigaut and his wife Anne took over the running of the estate in 1990. Many of their vineyards are still ploughed by horse and Hervé follows the lunar calendar for the activities in the vineyard and the cellar, adopting a minimal approach to winemaking.
