Tasting Notes

From the garden of England comes this delectable Pinot Noir which demonstrates the true quality of the Gusbourne Estate. The classic Champenois varieties, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, are grown for the production of their award-winning sparkling wines. But in 2007 Gusbourne decided to set aside two parcels of brilliantly ripe Pinot Noir to make a small amount of red wine. The 2011 Pinot is supremely elegant with delightful summer berry fruits, creating an attractive and juicy aroma. There is a lovely subtlety to the wine with delicately handled oak and vibrant crunchy acidity. Gusbourne’s Pinot Noir is not just a great English still wine; it is a wonderful Pinot Noir.

Beautifully defined and supple, and almost Burgundian in style, this wine will age well...
