MALBEC, Drinking 2017

Scores

A stunning bargain.. the 2012 Malbec Lujan de Cuyo - Maipu (15,000 cases produced) was aged six months in a combination of French and American oak (10% new). A Malbec fruit bomb, it offers notes of melted chocolate, espresso roast, blackberries and blueberries, medium to full body, silky tannins, and a lush, heady, full throttle style with no hard edges, but impressive purity. Drink it over the next 3-4 years. This is a lot of wine for a bargain basement price. Score: 90 Points Robert Parker

Tasting Notes

A medium bodied, aromatic wine with a bouquet of sweet cherries and raspberries on the nose with bright forest fruit flavours on the palate. Smooth textures and a spicy note on the finish add complexity and depth. Drink this delicious wine over the next few years. Drink from release.
