"The bunches for the 2013 Arbois Chardonnay were pressed directly and the must fermented in barrel, where it also aged for one year. Only 10% of the barrels are new here. The oak is very well integrated; it's a pure style of white, you can say it’s a Burgundy style, but it certainly has fresher acidity and the oak does not add that much creaminess. The wine has more tension and purity. A noteworthy Chardonnay... Domaine du Pélican is the name of the Jura winery from Marquis d’Angerville in Volnay in the Côte de Beaune, just one of the Burgundian vignerons that are arriving in Jura."
