Tasting Notes

Sheltered by the great monoliths of Solutré and Vergisson, the terraced slopes of Pouilly-Fuissé produce some of the greatest whites in Burgundy. The appellation extends across four communes: Solutré-Pouilly, Fuissé, Chaintré and Vergisson. The clay and limestone terroir of Vergisson gives these wines a particularly complex character.

Reviews & Scores

An extremely pretty and relatively high-toned nose features notes of white peach, pear, lilac and discreet citrus nuances. There is fine cut and energy to the well-detailed and solidly intense middle weight flavors that exude a find bead of minerality onto the balanced and notably dry finale. This is really quite good and worth checking out.

TASTING NOTES

The 2015 Marsanne is a mouth-wateringly refreshing wine with an attractive bouquet of bright citrus fruits with a hint of lime. On the palate, zingy lemon and juicy grapefruit flavours lead to a racy finish. A perfect aperitif at the end of a long summer’s day.Armit Wines

TASTING NOTES

Temptingly elegant bouquet of melon and pineapple-led fruit with pleasing wafts of hawthorn. The palate is balanced with well-gauged acidity rounded off by a lingering finish. One of the most food-flexible wines. Serve with vegetable veloutés and soups or fish.Armit Wines
