CABERNET SAUVIGNON, Drinking Now 2020

Scores

A round and delicious wine with bright fruit and fine tannins. Medium body, lovely flavors and a fresh finish. Blend of cabernet sauvignon and sangiovese. We will see how it ages but already beautiful.
91-92 Points, James Suckling

Dense and taut, with black currant, wild herb and earthy notes. The tannins are rustic, yet there is a lot of sweet fruit. Finishes long. Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. Best from 2018 through 2024. 26,000 cases made.
90 Points, Wine Spectator

Tasting Notes

A wine with attractive wild cherry and blackberry fruit aromas, the 2015 has supple textures and juicy ripe fruit flavours balanced by lively redcurrant characters and a hint of savoury spice on the finish. This wine will be delicious to drink from release. Drink from 2017 to 2020.

ProducerTenuta San Guido

Quietly, elegantly and almost involuntarily, the Incisa della Rocchetta family set to release the wine that would revolutionise the Italian wine scene creating a totally new genre: the Super-Tuscan. Tenuta San Guido is now a legendary estate and was first planted in the 1940s by the Marchese Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, who noted the similarity between Bolgheri’s terroir and that of the Graves. When, in 1968, Sassicaia was finally commercially released, it took the fine wine world by storm. Cementing its iconic status, in 1994 it was granted its own appellation – Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC.
