An alluring yellow amber hue hints at the delights that this wine has to offer. Before the glass even approaches one’s nose, a swathe of grapefruit pith and pure, clean honey introduce themselves. Nuanced layers emerge with aeration including ripe peach, spun sugar, nectarine, juicy pear and even a hint of mango. This is a wine that builds slowly but soon carries you away with its soaring crest of acidity that cleanses all the plump sugared fruit and marries beautifully with the accents of spicy botrytised apricot. The texture, depth, complexity, weight and impeccable balance all interconnect and overlap in a way that is quite difficult to do justice in print. Arresting now, and frankly hard to resist, but with decades ahead of it this is a cuvée to hoard and savour.
