Drinking Now 2021This wine shows lovely purity of fruit on the nose with bright plum and red berry aromas and a hint of violets and briary spice. Darker cassis characters come through on the palate supported by textured tannins and refreshing acidity. Almost a normal crop was produced thankfully. Drink from 2019.

Domaine de Montille is one of Burgundy’s greatest estates. The wines are made for ageing but in recent years, since Hubert’s son Etienne has taken over, the Domaine has moved towards expressing greater aromatic potential in the wines. The Domaine has moved progressively towards organic and now biodynamic methods working in closer harmony with nature. The wines still benefit from ageing and develop an abundance of complexity as they mature.
