DrinkingWhilst the winemaking here is the same as the Vaudésir, the finished wine is very different. The Valmur is a powerful wine, with bundles of energy. The oak is arguably more prominent at this youthful stage suggesting it needs more time to age, but the brooding minerality beneath the veneer is unmistakable and hints at a wine with great potential. There is substantial concentration and complexity thanks to subtly spicy, gunflint notes. This needs time but will reward 5 years in the cellar.
