Drinking 2019-2038A lot of fresh red fruit on the nose, noteworthy complexity. This wine fills the mouth with layers of fruit and freshening acidity and I was tempted not to spit. Very pure fruit, very good length with just a hint of rusticity. Drink from 2023.

Domaine de Montille is one of Burgundy’s greatest estates. The wines are made for ageing but in recent years, since Hubert’s son Etienne has taken over, the Domaine has moved towards expressing greater aromatic potential in the wines. The Domaine has moved progressively towards organic and now biodynamic methods working in closer harmony with nature. The wines still benefit from ageing and develop an abundance of complexity as they mature.
