Tasting Notes

A striking, crystalline nose evolves from floral, to spice to orange peel and then white pepper. 2016 really seems to be a demi-sec vintage in particular, as this Le Mont demonstrates.  Whilst there is sweetness, the wine is exceptionally pure and light on its feet. An exquisite juxtaposition between white orchard fruit and a minerally citrus frame; the fine vinous texture has real depth and substance lifted breathlessly by honeyed citrus flesh.

Reviews & Scores

A star of Chenin Blanc in the Loire Valley, Domaine Huët was founded in 1928; the Hwang family bought it from the Huëts in 2003. The domaine was one of the early proponents of biodynamics in the region, converting in 1990. The estate mainly comprises three vineyards: Le Haut-Lieu, Le Mont and Clos du Bourg. The distinct terroir of Le Mont, with its clay and silex soils, yields fresh, minerally wines. The demi-sec has 20 grams per liter of residual sugar, and winemaker Jean-Bernard Berthomé ages the wine half in demi-muid and half in stainless-steel tanks for six months.
95 Points, Wine Spectator

RS 20 g/l. Relatively closed in comparison with the other Huet Demi-Secs. Waxy texture, but not at all overweight. Oily character on the finish and supreme concentration on the length. 13%. Drink 2018-2028.
17.5 Points, Richard Hemming MW

TASTING NOTES

Yellow with green hues; clean and bright. Outstandingly intense aromas, with hints of stone fruit (peaches), white fruit (pears and ripe apples) and quince, in addition to a remarkable lemon leaf citrus background. A flavoursome mouth is accompanied by an enjoyable breadth and freshness, together with a very well-integrated acidity. Very persistent, fruit-forward finish. Perfect to enjoy with any appetiser....

TASTING NOTES

The 2015 Marsanne is a mouth-wateringly refreshing wine with an attractive bouquet of bright citrus fruits with a hint of lime. On the palate, zingy lemon and juicy grapefruit flavours lead to a racy finish. A perfect aperitif at the end of a long summer’s day.Armit Wines

TASTING NOTES

Vivid yellow straw colour with soft greenish hints, the typical bouquet of tropical fruit and citrus notes with a distinguished Mediterranean flavour, such as sage. On the palate this wine is silky and well balanced by a moderate alcohol content, good minerality and freshness. It matches very well all fish dishes, any white meat or it can be simply savoured...
