Case of 6
This is an almost nostalgic wine that hints at childhood memories of baked apple, honeyed raisin, pear drop and fresh apple sauce. Nuanced layers emerge with grapefruit pith and juicy conference pear alongside spun sugar, nectarine, and white peach. Its soaring crest of acidity cleanses all the plump sugared fruit and marries beautifully with the accents of spicy botrytised apricot. The texture, depth, complexity are immense but it seems almost weightless in its delicacy. Striking and stunning now (and frankly hard to resist), but with decades ahead of it, this is a cuvée to keep and savour.
Reviews & Scores
RS 54 g/l. Creamy, spicy, honeyed – this has a particularly flamboyant nose compared with Huet's other two Moelleux Vouvrays. Shows off fantastic white peach fruit, subtle spices and gorgeous sweet ginger notes to finish. 12%.
