ALSACE
Of all the wine growing regions of the world, Alsace is unique for the extra-ordinary diversity of its "terroir". From Strasbourg in the North, to Mulhouse in the South, the eclectic mix of soils (limestone, sandstone, schist, slate and granite) allows this sun trap between the Vosges mountains and the Black Forest to produce more different styles of wine than any other area. They marry extremely well with the robust fusion of Germanic and French cuisines found in the restaurants and "winstub" of the region's picturesque villages.

Grassy and floral with spicy lift. Stone fruits and lemon flesh. This is taut, intense and long with excellent concentration, direction and drive. The ripe fruit which is characteristic of Zotzenberg is perfectly balanced by surging minerality and crisp, bright acidity. This will reward cellar time but is already lovely to drink and I wouldnt hesitate to decant and drink...
