The style of the wines of the Nahe fall between the Mosel and the Rheingau, combining the raciness of the former with the weight of the latter. Until recently the Nahe was a much under-rated region; recently however, a number of star growers, particularly Helmut Dönnhoff, have elevated the Nahe to one of Germany's great regions.
