SWARTLAND

50km North of Cape Town lies The Swartland and consists of the regions between the towns of Malmesbury in the south, Darling in the west, Piketberg in the north and the Riebeek West and Riebeek Kasteel in the east. Winemaking in The Swartland is still relatively new. The climate is warm and dry with an average temperature range of 25º C - 35º C and an annual rainfall of between 450 mm and 600 mm.
