TRENTINO

Trentino-Alto Adige is in the most northern part of Italy, and so mountainous that only 15% of the land can be cultivated. Historically, Trentino (southern part of the region) was Italian, whereas the northern part of Alto Adige was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Although home to some fine red wines which mainly found their way into Austria, the future of this region lies in the production of flavoursome white wines, such as Pinot Grigio, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc. Our best selling Pinot Grigio from Tiefenbrunner is a wonderful example of what this region can produce.
