Roagna's 2018 Releases

The Roagna family has been making wine since the late 19th century and the estate is now run by Luca Roagna, whose first harvest was in 2001. Luca remains true to the traditions of his forebears but has perfected the style with an extremely pure expression of each terroir and vine. His wines are extraordinarily complex and ethereal with incredible ageing potential. When visiting the cellars of Piedmont Luca’s name is often mentioned as one of the top winemakers in the region.

The vines are located in Barbaresco and Barolo, with famous parcels in some of the region’s best vineyards. Luca is always keen to emphasise the age and quality of the vines, some of which are 100 years old, and the importance of biodiversity in the vineyard. He uses traditional massal selection to propagate his vines and grows grasses and flowers between the rows to create a diverse sanctuary for wildlife. In the cellar, wild yeasts, long maceration times and judicious ageing in large old casks allows the wines to achieve their fullest expression. As a result, the wines are released later than most other producers.

We are delighted to release the 2013 wines from Roagna, a highly acclaimed year in Barbaresco and Barolo, as well as the rare flagship Barbaresco Crichët Pajé 2010, considered a “great vintage” by Luca. We are also pleased to release two unique whites, Solea and Montemarzino 2016.

Roagna’s wines are highly sought after and are strictly allocated so please contact us as soon possible.
