The vintage weather conditions encouraged the development of an Ornellaia which shows elegance and development of richly-faceted aromatics, with its classic dark, intense ruby colour. This is 100% Merlot and the coolness of the vintage definitely suited it. The nose takes a while to come alive, but spices, chocolate and black pepper sit on top of cherry and blackberry fruit; tantalising and inviting.
