A stalwart St Julien, and reliable name over the last decade, Lagrange does not disappoint this year. Toasty oak, warm ripe and inviting damsons and plums. Deliciously ripe and creamy, with no lack of structure.

74% Sauvignon Blanc, 26% Sémillon. Barrel sample. Fragrant and pure with pin-point precision. All in length and line. Floral, citrus aromas. Delicious fruit but again controlled, the finish pebble-sucking and saline. Atypical white Bordeaux. Could be burgundy – Puligny? JR
