Scores

(70% cabernet sauvignon, 25% merlot and 5% cabernet franc) Good deep red-ruby. Lively aromas of redcurrant, smoke, tobacco and nutty oak. Lush and broad, with a restrained sweetness to its plum and redcurrant flavors. Finishes with serious but ripe tannins. This shows more structure than the lighter 2004 and more vinosity, and perhaps more even ripeness than the chunkier 2005. 89-91 points Stephen Tanzer

Tasting Notes

Langoa continues to show its more serious side in 2006 with a solid, full and rich wine that will need time to evolve. Not quite the polish of its sibling but there is a lovely depth of fruit hung across broad shoulders. Who needs flamboyance when there is such dependable quality year on year? 16 points
