Tasting Notes

Named after the vineyards immediately surrounding Pieve Santa Restituta, Gaja?s Rennina is produced from lime rich soils which, combined with a southwest exposure and breezes from the west, create perfect conditions for producing complex and powerful wines. The 2008 is a magnificent wine with gorgeous scents of sweet red cherries, exotic dried spices and wild herbs with smooth, dark fruit flavours and succulent, velvety tannins. An energetic freshness on the finish provides perfect balance. This wine will be delicious to drink in a few years but has the capacity to age for a further twenty.
