Tasting Notes

This is a magnificent expression of the vintage with its enveloping and complex bouquet of wild flowers and red cherries with a hint of dark chocolate, spices and wild herbs. The palate has a lovely richness with great depth of red berry fruit with gorgeously textured tannins, a refreshing acidity and a refined mineral note which runs through to the very long finish. Extremely appealing, even now, it will be all too tempting to drink this wine on release but it has the structure to age for fifteen years or more.

Reviews & Scores

Good bright medium red. Enticing, nuanced nose offers red berries, red cherry and spicy, earthy underbrush. Rich, broad and fine-grained, with lovely inner-mouth perfume and tension. Seemed to shut down in the glass, showing a penetrating juicy quality and finishing with suave tannins and terrific length. A splendid Barbaresco.

“A darker, more structured Barolo than his sibling, Prapo’ is an incredibly pure expression of the terroir of Serralunga. Precise notes of red and black berries, forest floor and dark spices are framed by tight woven tannins and lively freshness. An exciting release that has the potential to be enjoyed for the next 10 years.” Armit Wines

“Taut, elegant, ethereal expression of Nebbiolo. A purebred Barolo that entices with notes of red fruits, meadow flowers and just hints of Italian leather and spices. Already approachable, Cerretta will be a sure joy to revisit in five to ten years.” Armit Wines
