This is benchmark village Barolo and sets the standard for the rest of Fenocchio?s range. Beautiful lifted aromas of cherry, strawberry and roses swirl up from the glass complimented by an earthy background with hints of sweet spice. The palate is finely poised with great balance between weight and structure. Perfumed cherry and strawberry flavours dominate backed by an earthy minerality and a pleasantly grippy structure. The concentration of flavour here is quite something, all finished off by a lovely bitter cherry finish. As with all of Fenocchio?s wines this is approachable and beguiling now but has the ability to age for the next 5-7 years.
Reviews & Scores
Monforte d?Alba. Bursting with fragrance ? evocative and emotive, almost! Confidently high tannin, and light body. The scent is the most remarkable aspect though ? really stellar.
