Tasting Notes

An attractive, full flavoured Margaux with bright blackberry and plum characters on the nose intermingled with sweet cassis notes and a hint of spice. The palate is harmonious and textured with soft , integrated tannins and a refreshing acidity, balancing dark red berry and bramble fruit flavours. There is a refined mineral character on the finish which gives definition and style. Overall a very successful wine in 2n/a11 which will age well over the next 5 years.

Reviews & Scores

Made from a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot that hit 14% natural alcohol, the excellent 2011 is a sleeper of the vintage. Textured, with soft tannins, lots of black currant and black cherry fruit, surprising density and a velvety finish, it should drink well for a decade or more

TASTING NOTES

74% Sauvignon Blanc, 26% Sémillon. Barrel sample. Fragrant and pure with pin-point precision. All in length and line. Floral, citrus aromas. Delicious fruit but again controlled, the finish pebble-sucking and saline. Atypical white Bordeaux. Could be burgundy – Puligny? JR
