The 2011 vintage saw Perlato del Bosco Rosso make a glorious return to its Sangiovese-only origins; one of the very few pure Sangiovese wines on the Tuscan coast. Pure, black fruit bursts from the glass with subtle highlights of earth, leather and smoke. The palate mirrors the intense, dark berries and adds heady aromas of fragrant herbs, flaunting its depth and complexity. This is an incredibly focused wine, with fine tannins and exceptional acidity providing wonderful balance and finesse. Drink from 2014-2021.
Reviews & Scores
The 2011 Perlato del Bosco is soft, open and accessible. This is a textured, resonant style of Sangiovese typical of the Tuscan coast in its breadth and volume. The warmth and resonance of the vintage comes through in spades. Dark red cherries, licorice flesh out on the dark, savory finish. This is a fabulous effort for the year.
