Further up the slope from Pucelles and nestled alongside Montrachet Grand Cru, the Caillerets is the ying to the Pucelles yang. The nose is more about herbs and spices with aromas of dried tarragon and white pepper framing a whistle clean fruit core with touches of oatmeal and smoky caramel. There is a honeyed richness to the palate which is in harmony with bracing grapefruit and lemon fruit, all underscored by notes of toasted hazelnut and sherbet. The finish is impressively long. Drink from 2015.
