Tasting Notes

On the nose this beautifully balanced wine has aromas of cherry and dark plum with hints of spice and sweet smoke. A silken texture and invigorating freshness on the palate provide a framework for the succulent ripe red fruits while intriguing notes of wild herbs and dark chocolate adds depth and mystery. Medium bodied with a fine structure and a persistent finish, this wine will age very well. The smallest harvest in 50 years, it was a year of bizarre weather patterns; a wet spring, hail and torrid summer heat. Luckily good water reserves in the soil protected the vines through the worst of the heat and allowed for Nebbiolo with great promise. Drink from 2018.

TASTING NOTES

“A darker, more structured Barolo than his sibling, Prapo’ is an incredibly pure expression of the terroir of Serralunga. Precise notes of red and black berries, forest floor and dark spices are framed by tight woven tannins and lively freshness. An exciting release that has the potential to be enjoyed for the next 10 years.” Armit Wines
