Powerful and deeply flavoured from old vines grown on rocky soils. On the nose, smoky redcurrant and sweet bramble fruit characters are followed by a palate bursting with refreshing strawberry and bright plum fruit flavours. Darker, deeper prune and sweet herb notes open up as the wine evolves in the glass, balanced by firm, perfectly integrated tannins and a lively, juicy freshness which leads to a long finish with a hint of spice. This wine has excellent ageing potential and will certainly benefit from a few more year in bottle. Drink from 2018.
