Tasting Notes

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) and Merlot (40%), the aromas of the 2012 are bright and persistent and open in the glass to reveal layers of cassis and dark plum fruit characters with hints of wild herbs and spices. The palate is complex and persistent with supple red cherry fruit characters balanced by a mouth-watering freshness and a refined mineral quality which leads to a long finish. Although this wine can be enjoyed young, it will develop greater complexity with age. Drink from 2014 ? 2022.

Reviews & Scores

Aromas of blackberry and blueberry, with hints of wet earth and spices such as cloves. Full body with round, chewy tannins but polished and caressing. A juicy, succulent finish. One of the best ever. Drink or hold.

The grapes are vinified separately in four-and-a-half-year-old American oak for three years, and...

TASTING NOTES

An impressive release that speaks volume of the pedigree of Tenuta San Guido’s wines. Guidalberto is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. A voluptuous nose charged with blackcurrant, black cherries, damson notes is rained in by mineral, almost balsamic hints of black olive, mint, tomato leaf and fresh black pepper. The exuberant nose of youth shouldn’t distract from the...
